Beach flags in front of the entrance and the aroma of freshly baked waffles guided the approximately 200 visitors to the InnoDom Cologne on Architecture Day: On Saturday, June 29, 2024, the Cologne University Foundation hosted an open house.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the University Foundation offered a varied program for visitors. Guided tours of the building, a lecture on Building Information Modeling (digital and sustainable construction), a presentation by three in-house startups, and the “Pausenexpress” event with UniSport Cologne allowed visitors to experience what makes the building so special. Visitors were also well taken care of in terms of food and drink. The in-house café, “Gateway Coffee,” was open. On the rooftop terrace, non-alcoholic cocktails were served, which were a big hit in the bright sunshine.
“The open house led to many fruitful conversations. I was particularly pleased that so many neighbors took the opportunity to learn about our flagship project,” said Beate Lippelt, the executive director of the University Foundation, after the event.
