REGIONAL CONNECTIVITY.

Projects and Achievements.

The University of Cologne has never been an ivory tower, but has always been an integral part of the city—supported by its citizens for centuries. As the University Foundation, we see it as our duty to nurture and strengthen this close bond. In all the projects we support, we always ask ourselves: What do they contribute to Cologne and the region—economically, socially, and environmentally?

Our stated goal is to use every initiative to bring people closer together and to sustainably develop our community. Local funding projects that connect a wide range of generations and interests demonstrate how this can be achieved for the benefit of all.

Please help us with your donation to make our community ready for the future—through the power of community.

Service Learning at the Professional Center: Learning for the Common Good

Service Learning at the Professional Center: Learning for the Common Good

Service learning integrates social engagement into everyday university life. This gives students from all faculties the opportunity to support nonprofit organizations with their expertise. Working in interdisciplinary teams, they immerse themselves in real-world practice to apply their specific skills and acquire key social competencies—not least with a view to their future careers. The program offers a wide range of opportunities: Each semester, students can choose from various organizations that benefit from their involvement.

Citizen Science: Research for Citizens

Citizen Science: Research for Citizens

Visiting and senior students have been conducting research at the University of Cologne since 1997. The voluntary project groups are self-organized and receive academic guidance. Through the regular publication and discussion of their findings, senior students and visiting students can actively contribute to academic discourse. This approach promotes citizen participation in research processes and thus creates an important interface in the dialogue between science and society.
