State-of-the-art hardware for the Digital Lab at the Faculty of Economic Sciences

The University of Cologne now has another project funded by the Cologne University Foundation: the Digital Lab and a project space for interactive courses at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences.

In the Digital Lab, students have access to state-of-the-art IT hardware. This includes, among other things, Oculus VR headsets, a 3D printer, two DJI camera drones, a workstation, and a workbench equipped with tools and a soldering station, as well as Arduino mini-computers and IoT sensors. The Digital Lab supports students in bringing innovative ideas to life and developing digital products.

The project room has been equipped with movable furniture, projectors, and a smartboard, and has been used by the Business Informatics programs for interactive courses since the summer semester of 2024. The facility has been very well received by faculty and students. “We would like to thank the University Foundation, without which equipping the rooms in this way would not have been possible!” explains Prof. Dr. Christoph Rosenkranz, Chair of Business Informatics and Integrated Information Systems.
