Since 2012, the COLOGNE SUMMER SCHOOLS (CSS) program has enabled students from the University of Cologne and its international partner universities to participate in short-term interdisciplinary exchange programs. In 2025, three summer schools will once again be funded by the University of Cologne Foundation—an important contribution to international networking and the promotion of early-career researchers.
The first of these will be the Cologne Summer School on Intergenerational Justice. Conviviality, Cooperation, and Sustainable Future Visions, which will take place from July 21 to August 1, 2025, at the University of Cologne—in a hybrid format with twenty participants on-site and twelve students joining digitally.
The focus will be on issues of intergenerational justice, which will be examined from various disciplinary perspectives. The program includes seminars, workshops, and digital site visits, during which future-oriented perspectives on social responsibility, sustainable development, and global solidarity will be discussed.
A cultural program rounds out the Summer School and offers international guests a vivid insight into student life and academic culture in Cologne.
The Cologne University Foundation is pleased to contribute to the realization of this wonderful project—and wishes all participants an inspiring time at the University of Cologne.
