This year, the Cologne University Foundation approved 26 projects as part of the call for proposals titled “Innovative and Modern Equipment for Faculties and Central Administrative Units.” With a total funding volume of 2.5 million euros, the Foundation is thus sending a clear signal in support of modern science, contemporary teaching, and a sustainable university infrastructure.
The submitted proposals impressively demonstrated the wide range of needs in research and academic studies: from digital media technology in seminar rooms to flexible learning space concepts and specialized laboratory and measurement technology. All funded projects share the goal of tangibly improving the quality of the teaching and learning environment and specifically addressing existing challenges.
It was particularly important to the selection committee that the projects demonstrate clear benefits for students and researchers, pursue innovative approaches, and be sustainable in their implementation. The approved projects highlight how committed the faculties and administrative units are to the university’s further development.
For the Foundation, the focus is on supporting people in their academic and scientific development. The funded projects create better working, learning, and research conditions—and help ensure that the University of Cologne remains a place where ideas can flourish in the future.
The University of Cologne Foundation looks forward to the implementation of the selected projects and thanks all applicants for their well-thought-out and forward-looking contributions.
